Diocese of London Homeless Appeal

Around one fifth of the parishes within the Diocese of London actively help the homeless. Together in Barnet Night Shelter is one of 15 charities from across the Diocese who will benefit from this appeal which was launched in November and will run until Easter 2018. This is great news for the Shelter at a time when all our places are full, including our emergency beds. Homeless Action in Barnet is the beneficiary of the London Borough of Barnet Mayor’s Appeal this year and a number of interesting events have already taken place with more to come.

Christmas Charity at St John’s Church

Having received the attached letter from the Bishop of Stepney giving details of how the London Diocese Homelessness Appeal, Fr Paul has chosen it as the Christmas charity for this year.

Please give generously when you post a Christmas greeting to your friends at church on the board in the Baptistry.

There will also be a retiring collection at the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols on Friday December 22nd and at the Crib service on Sunday December 24th.

We will also continue to support this appeal through into Lent 2018 as suggested in Bishop Adrian’s letter.
