‘If you are the Son of God’ Lenten thinking on temptation…

Categories: Church,Latest News,Uncategorized

In Matthew’s Gospel (4.1-11) Jesus is led by the Spirit into the wilderness where he fasted forty days and forty nights.  Afterwards he is tempted by the Devil.

In our Lenten thinking we are considering each of the three temptations Jesus faced:

1. “If you are the Son of God command these stones to become loaves of bread.”

2. “If you are the Son of God throw yourself down” from the pinnacle of the Temple.

3. “… Fall down and worship me.”

All meetings to be held in the Parish Centre starting at 9.40 (following the 9.00 Eucharist) on three consecutive Saturdays starting on the 11th March.
